no expert

Yup, that's right. I've been interviewed by a parenting magazine about taking great pictures of your kids. Today we did a kindergarten run-through where mom and kiddo ride the bus and meet the teacher. Well, here's my kiddo, Miss Cooperative, waiting for the school bus this morning. She'd have NO part of posed photos. You'll see, though, that once she got into the fun of the day, I got the priceless ones. Her delight when she discovered her dear friend N was in her class was beautiful. I had to back off, as the local paper photographer was also taken by their sweet reunion and she followed them around as the held hands to explore their new school.

my girl

I needed a photo of Rachel today for a publication, and I realized that while I've continued to try to capture the everyday and special moments along the way, I'm not keeping up with proofing and backing up my own photos. He's one from our vacation earlier in the month. I took over a thousand photos of Rachel and her cousins playing at the stream. Once I get through this crunch of clients, I'm very much looking forward to proofing the vacation images and putting them together in a special memory book.

nick

I'm back and posting. Pardon my absence. I had a wonderful trip with my family (kids, hubby, parents, sisters, and their families) to Montreal and the mountains of Quebec. I'm sorting through those great photos, though I suspect it will take some time.

Last night, I returned to photographing CA's Class of 2008 with a great session with Nick. This young filmaker has a great eye, and when I ran out of ideas for poses, he took over, with both serious and fun shots that made me laugh and taught me a few things too.

Yes, that's Spiderman to the rescue.

amelia

It was a perfect night, with beautiful light, and a fun, adventurous senior. I love the combination of town and country shoots. Amelia's beautiful land, gardens and pond provided the perfect backdrop for a great session!

tim

Tim gets special recognition for orginality and his love of the outdoors. A special thanks for my first ever ATV ride! What a a treat it was to explore the beautiful landscape Tim's family has created on their 30 acres. And as the daughter of a band director, I can't tell you how happy I was when I realized that the tuba was to be a part of our session.

urban color

I just couldn't resist sharing this fun collage I worked on for Emma. She has such a unique and wonderful style, and we had a great time playing behind the stores downtown with THE green chair.
