buddies

You've got to love a cat that will let a four-year-old drag him around the yard. They are great friends, and share the much-loved front sidewalk.

missing ryan

I was searching through some old images and stumbled across this one of my sweet nephew Ryan. I can't believe that I didn't get to spend time with him and Caleb this summer. I hope Jill doesn't mind if I share this shot from aikido.

alex

It's been a wild week, gearing up for the start of the semester at school and also catching up on senior pictures for a bunch of the swimmers. What fun it has been spending time with these great boys!

This is Alex, a great student and three-sport athlete. And wonderfully photogenic!

send him a postcard

Yesterday was a day to remember. 750 miles of driving over 15 hours, traffic in Toronto, and a delay at the border. Will is back at camp. He graciously agreed to a photo, but gave me five seconds and one try. I figured I was due a bit more time, given the drive, but he had other ideas. To repay his generosity, I'm inviting everyone I know to send him a postcard (or two or three...) at camp.

Address removed. Will is home. Many thanks to all who sent cards.

sidewalk as stage and canvas

We have an unusually small yard. We are in a historic home on a corner lot, with no back yard. Rachel seems unphased and takes great delight in the front yard. This week she has been gravitating there, with great focus on the concrete sidewalk. It has become her canvas for oversized works of art and her stage for dancing in the rain.

I've had a much-need break from portfolio-building sessions with others, to catch up on life, as well as ordering and other business issues, but things heat back up again this week with several senior sessions. I look forward to sharing.

On her way out the door

Nora went to a semi-formal Sweet 16 party last night, and I snapped this quick one of her as she was on her way out the door.

curly

My charming middle child also indulged me yesterday, but I think we need a redo. He's so tall now, I end up shooting from too low, not the most flattering angle.

ballerina

Today was Rachel's last summer ballet class. The studio provided a great location to experiment more with backlighting. I've really come to love backlighting and the wonderful way it frames the subject.

sun, sand, and surf

Please forgive my silence. We were on holiday at the Jersey Shore. Here are a few of the requisite beach shots. You'll see that we picked up extra kids along the way - Will brought a friend, and Rachel got to play with Sean (my friend Jen's son). Thanks Flip for the great house!!!
